We are doing our very best to keep our staff healthy and our business functioning as normal in these unprecedented times. We are very lucky that Great Bradley Oak Stud is in a rural location and the majority of our staff live on site. Nevertheless we have upped our hygiene measures and continue to monitor advice from the government. We have managed to get a large box of face-masks for staff to wear when in communal areas such as the tack room and we have hand sanitisers topped up daily on the doors into each of the barns. Disinfecting the horse walker at the end of each day has always been a regular job for the yard staff; however, the disinfectant is now being used for door handles and the staff room surfaces too.
Racing Welfare have again showed just how much of a worthwhile charity they are by supporting stud and stable staff through the pandemic. They have condensed advice from the government, the BHA and elsewhere into one helpful page - https://racingwelfare.co.uk/coronavirus-information-guidance-support/
They have also introduced Covid-19 hardship grants for anyone working in the thoroughbred industry who is in need of immediate financial assistance due to the current crisis and their support line remains open 24 hours a day - 08006300443.
We are all looking forward to the Jade Skillen fitness 12 hour bootcamp challenge to support our local hospital - take a look at our last news post to read about how you can get involved with us.
